Where we can send to & when we ship

We have received requests for our cheeses from all over the world, and although we would love to be able to send our cheeses to every corner of the globe, at this stage unfortunately this isn't possible.   A combination of shipping costs, customs policies, and our own production capacity, has meant that we can ship to European countries only, together with a few countries that are relatively close to our  Mediterranean base in Malta - please see POSTAL ZONES for the list of countries we can presently send to.

 

Our cheeses are handmade and made to order, and need a few days to air dry before we can despatch.  Please note that we process orders on a 'first-come first-served' basis, and we despatch all parcels - on Mondays or Tuesdays.  Once we reach our production quota for the current week, orders will be produced the following week for despatch the week after.  Usual leadtime from date of order to despatch is 7-10 working days. During festive periods, please allow at least an additional 7 working days when you order, to allow for our additional workload, and postal delays.

Shipping Factors

Please remember that these are handmade, chilled, artisan delicacies that we want you to receive in optimum condition. They are vacuum-sealed, and shipped in a reuseable cool box with ice gel packs (during the warmer months) to ensure maximum freshness.  However, once they have left our front door, we are dependent on the postal service or shippers to deliver as promptly as possible, and for there to be someone available at your end to receive them.  We deliver parcels directly to the main postal depot in Malta, and they then leave the country by plane within a few hours.

Upon receiving your cheese/s, carefully place them as they are, vacuum-sealed, in your fridge for 2 to 3 hours or longer before consuming.  Your cheeses will keep fresh in your fridge sealed for 2 -3 weeks.  Once opened, consume within one week.  If you have purchased extra cheese, and will not be consuming them within these dates, we advise you to freeze them (after they have first been refrigerated as above) for up to 3 months.  When thawing your cheese, thaw in the fridge and then treat as fresh.    It is important, once the cheeses have been opened from their vacuum seal, that they are kept as dry as possible by patting them gently all round with a paper kitchen towel to remove any condensation. Then, place in an airtight container in the fridge, with the lid open for one day, and thereafter with the lid on.  Be sure there is nothing leaking in your fridge above the cheese.
