They say 'Modesty is a virtue' - but there again, Shakespeare said that ‘No legacy is as rich as honesty’.
So let’s set aside the modesty (and the cliches) for a moment, and say, quite honestly, that these are by far the best vegan cheeses we’ve ever tasted. And not only us – our friends and customers (including many non-vegans) are also completely hooked on our fabulous cheeses. They simply have the right mixture of irresistible taste, texture, and wonderful lingering mouthfeel. They also look breathtakingly beautiful.
Dairy cheese is one of the hardest foods to give up – not altogether surprising, since it stimulates the production of endorphins in the brain, which make us happy. But of course, the flip side is that it also clogs up our arteries and elevates our cholesterol levels, making us more prone to heart attacks. That’s aside from the appalling cruelty inflicted on cows in the dairy industry. So here, you have a genuine dairy-free alternative that enables both us and the cows to be very, very happy – and it gives you as good a ‘fix’ as dairy cheese once did ! Good news for those of us who are vegan, lactose intolerant, or looking to lower our cholesterol.
These artisan delicacies are the singlehanded creation of internationally renowned chef & food author Miriam Sorrell, whose award-winning ‘Mouthwatering Vegan’ blog and Cookbook have inspired so many vegans, aspiring vegans, and resting carnivores to notch their plant-based cooking up another few levels.
What most people don’t know is that, aside from being an advanced nutritionist, Miriam is also an acclaimed abstracts artist (with 9 major exhibitions behind her), known for her flamboyant and expressive use of colour, and the innovative mediums she herself developed. She has applied that same artistry and genius to produce these Fine Art Cheeses – 18 months in development, working round the clock into the early hours - and now finally available for our friends out there to enjoy too.
Our cheeses are artisan in the true sense of the word – all made by hand by Miriam herself, so please always give us a little time to turn round your order. It may be an idea to get a few at a time, as the shipping will work out more cost-effective. Oh, and by the way, you can also freeze them too.
